Print Quality Issues Above 60% RH

Our IMC6000 is operating in an environment where relative humidity exceeds 60%, and print quality deteriorates under those conditions. We’re seeing the same issue on an MP 4055—does anyone have faced this or have a solution?

Are you using Original Ricoh Toner or compatible? What is your maintenance count on your PCUD?

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Yes, we are using original Ricoh toners. All 4 PCDU are replaced but problem persists.

Why can't you get the Relative Humidity down below 60%? There is a reason for that specification. If it is affecting an MP 4055, then you have an RH in the neighborhood of 80%. At that high of a humidity you are getting all sorts of condensation in your PCDUs. That will adversely affect image quality. There is no magic setting that will compensate for the humidity. You have to get the humidity in the specified range 24-7.
