    MPC VS IMC

    Hiya Folks.

I have a customer who has a MP c5504 and was looking at up dating there machine as they have done quite a few, they do 20k a month. Is the IMC any better and different than the 04 models?, not got any yet, Also like the 03, does the IMC's take the 03/04 toners or Ricoh decided not on that one?

    Thanks again for any input

Can't speak to the performance aspect myself,
But there's a thread from a few weeks ago that you should find informative....
    MPC Toners vs. IMC Toners?

According to Debs the IM means Intelligent Multifunction device. Post 12 in the thread Ricoh Model Name Guide

I think the IMC is a good choice, especially if the customer was happy with the 04 series - it's just an update with faster controller and mnor changes here and there (= still a metis) and not the total re-invention.

The biggest improvement is the client can replace the fuser, transfer units & all the drums.

The PCDU now come as a complete unit & are not super expensive.

Untill now, we have had no issues with the imc's.
I think this is a very good choice for the customer, these are indeed very reliable machines.
But... pm tables need to be respected.
And no more cheating with parts, developers, pcu's, sad but true.

I think that cheating era ended with the Metis series in 2013 I think - there's still little things you can do to save some bucks but with way less impact regarding saving costs compared to what was possible with the MPC2500-3002 generations of course^^

But... pm tables need to be respected.
Anything different compared to MPC3004? I'd guess there's still a life stop for the fuser but I hope the PCUs and ITB run as long as the customer is happy with the quality.
