Aficio MP C2051 toner not fixed on thic paper

Hi everyone, I have a problem with both my Ricoh Aficio MP C2051.

When I use the bypass to print on thick paper, the toner is not fixed on the paper, and I have to print a few blank sheets to clean the ink left in the machine.

I have tried all sorts of settings, installed any drivers, even those for older operating systems, but the problem persists.

Anyone know how to fix? Thanks in advance!

If you are using good quality paper & the weight is set correctly replace the fuser sleeve.

First try to slow down print. Set printer to use 220gr paper. That should work. On 80gr print normally?

Some details about the paper + specific settings he tried would be nice. Some glossy coated stuff is hard to handle even if the manufacturer says it's OK for color laser use, especially if the machine + fuser is old.

Yes on 80gr prints normally. I've tried to slow down the print setting "quality" in the option, but the result is the same.

My father said me he tested the two copiers with the same fuser unit, so maybe the problem is there.

We will try to replace fuser sleeve. Thanks for the response!

Errmm....You do know there are dedicated settings for paper thickness in both driver + MFP?? The do change both process speed and temperatures.

Try and set them up correctly @both ends to avoid any trouble because depending on the MFP settings the driver settings might be ignored....

Set on 220gr paper, that will slow printer down and fuser temperature will be higher. That can work.

I have used the Transparency Setting on the PC Driver to get it to print on Card...!

Thanks everyone for the responses. We solved!
I'll write here the solution so if anyone has the same problem can solve too.

In system settings on the printer you can change the type of paper you use on bypass and we set the thickest paper. Now it works perfectly!

There is also a setting in User Tools - Printer Function that allows you to tell the C2051 to use the driver/documents settings instead of the machine settings.
