[Jamming] MPC 4503 J18 jams when copying/printing multiple pages. Single pages are fine.

As title states, getting repeating J18 jams when attempting multiple pages either copying or printing. Single pages are just fine. Single sided or double sided doesn't matter.

Troubleshooting attempted: rebuilt fusing unit multiple times(per suggestion from the few threads dealing with this issue), updated firmware, cleaning all path rollers from paper trays to finisher output. Have replaced path sensors around fuser.

We thought we had it figured out last week when we switched tray 4 from special paper to plain and it worked for a bit. Came back with a fury today and the 3 of us cannot figure it out.

    Thanks

J18 or J018 depending on the machine model is a main relay sensor late jam. I would say that there is a problem with the sensor either bad, dirty or the black reference is dirty. This creates a hysteresis delay. Clean the sensor. If that does not correct the problem then replace the sensor. The sensor is located just above the tray 1 transport roller and is identified as Transport Sensor 1 on the Sensor Location page of the service manual.

ITB cleaning unit can be a good cause for this jam too, it stalls out the ITB unit causing late relay jams/
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Will try these out. Thank you both for your responses!

I think you have tried with all the paper trays ...
