I had a copier today that had 5 parallel streaks about 2.5 or 3 inches long on either the top or bottom of the page. They seem to be equally spaced and are parallel to the lead edge of the paper. In this case, they are feeding LEF. They are grayish and go from about 1/8" wide at the top and taper to nothing in the 2.5 to 3 inches that they run down the page. These 5 lines are equal distance apart, but was not able to measure them for a roller diameter as I could not duplicate the issue while I was at the call and did not have access to a live copy. Also, the client thought that the majority, if not all, of the jobs had these lines were in the first or second page of the print jobs, but not every one had them. (Just to clarify, these are not the lines we see when the fuser or PCDU are going bad, nor when there is debris on the DF glasses.)
I tore apart the PCDU and cleaned the charge roller (which was not bad at all) and vacuumed out or wiped areas around the seals on the PCDU. I also cleaned up the transfer area and saw no toner spillage anywhere. Neither the PCDU nor the fuser had very much wear if any.
After I left, I was looking at an image of the lines and their direction and thinking maybe it was one of the blades in the PDCU, like the doctor blade or the cleaning blade. Any thoughts? Okay, I whited out any values on the page and hopefully, the problem is apparent.
Thanks,
