What would cause this copier to not complete a copy run; display says to press print button or clear to cancel. The senario goes like this. 2 originals are placed in the adf both are scanned yet only 1 copy exits. Person making copies does not realize this next person comes up makes copy and gets previous persons copy of 2nd page. I did notice it do this and the error light? comes on sometimes after the 1st original is scanned sometimes after both originals are scanned sometimes not at all. However if it comes on as the 1st original is scanned it will scan the 2nd original but not give the copy unless print button is pressed again. Help appreciated.
    Thanks!!

Which error light is coming on? What service codes/jam codes are being stored?

I have not specifically seen this, but someone else may have. It sounds like it's either having an adf drive problem or a flag sensor that is sticking or not properly changing state, although I think that adf has photoreflectors rather than flag sensors.

I'm sure it could be something software related, but I'd first see what the machine 'thinks' is the problem.

Maybe the paper detect sensor in the ADF? If it runs the 2 pages through but believes there to be a third then it'll call a jam when nothing hits the 1st feed sensor.

It's a long shot mind you, without knowing which error light, checking jam locations etc etc

Check the adf lift sensor or paper tray end sensor, either one it just out of position.

The light I am talking about is right above the paper misfeed diagram on the display. I was also wondering if I have to access the error messages or wil they show up on the display? I worked on a Canon just recently that the only way to get see the error codes was to go through some procedure to get them to come up. Any help appreciated, thank you.

Check the sensor in the paper tray. Pull out the tray and inside about the middle, you will see the arm that tells the machine if it has paper.
I just had one do this 2 days ago. I blew out the sensor and all is well.
It was a dirty area but I have seen this in doctors offices also.

            Hope this helps
