IM2500 J001 and J012

Hi all

Please could I have some assistance, I have an IM2500 that shows J001 and J012, every page jams and the machine only has 24k on the clock.

I've tested input and output on the following and it works perfectly, reg sensor, transport sensor 1 and 2,drum and dev motor, reg motor and fusing motors.

If I bypass the door and run output check on the reg motor and feed a page through manually it goes into the fuser but if you try to make a copy or print, it just stops at registration, I have also replaced the bcu board with a brand new one but it still does the same thing, I've tried a side door but unfortunately I wasn't able to test the door before trying it on.

update: I have changed the feed stations and reg sensor and motor, still makes no difference, I have ruled out the feed stations since it does this even through the bypass tray.

I had a similar sort of problem with a different machine. What had happened was the actuator for the sensor was "shortened" by the paper rubbing over it. Kinda like a sandpaper effect on it.

Try replacing the actuator and test.

Also spray a bit of Q20 / lubricating spray on the points where the actuator hinges and swivels

have you checked the transfer roller if it is positioned right?
have you tried printing SEF?

There is a bulletin going back to 2019 about the exit unit screws not installed correctly causing exit jams. The solution was to replace the exit unit. D0BQ4404

Hi Friends,

Update: you will never guess it, the previous tech that went out replaced the tray 1 feed motor with a tray 2 feed motor which was causing these issues! Once I replaced the feed motor with a tray 1 motor everything worked perfectly. Thanks all

Exactly, I didn't think there would be until I noticed while looking at another machine that one had a sticker on the back and the other did not, then I looked at my machine and both had stickers on them (those stickers with the part numbers), I just decided to replace the motor thinking nothing would change but it worked from the first copy, not only that, the first, second and bypass all refused to work when the incorrect motor was in, once I changed it, everything worked perfectly.
