    Scanning with OCR

    Hi,

Installed an OCR unit on a MPC3004, now when scanning in OCR mode, and making a PDF document for example 20pages, some of those pages are turned in the document and shows as A4R (!!)

Strange, because I configured the scanformat in default A4 (fixed)
Even stranger . . . when I scan the same PDF document DISABBLING the OCR temporary all pages shows A4

Can't see any adjustments within the settings of the OCR for fixing this problem . . .

    anyone?
    Thanks in advance

    Re: Scanning with OCR

I believe that in order for the OCR function to scan for readable text the page has to oriented in a readable direction. One of the drawbacks to installing OCR.

How about if you feed in A4R does it convert some to A4 ?

Also it's worth updating the firmware this will also update OCR & may resolve the issue.
