sr3220 booklet fin wont staple thick 1 ?

i have a client that uses 28lb 11 x 17 we installed a sr3220 booklet fin... it says no i wont staple thick 1 paper... it will work on the middle thick bit this may/will start not fusing...and smear... so
i have the latest FW is there an update to get this to staple the thick 1 ? or an overide in service mode ? i couldnt find an override in service mode ... but doesn't mean its not there...

28lb paper is not Thick 1. Thick 1 is 34.1 to 40 lb. There should be a chart in the service manual for the main frame that the finisher is attached to that gives you all the paper weights to paper types.
