Your laser is clean? Your sample shows all colors are not really a complete fill. I would lean towards ID sensors, itb assy, or paper transfer roller. If you do a sky shot and stop the copy, is all of the toner being transferred to paper or is some left on ITB? Is your pro-con all 1's?

When the black unit starts to rotate you can hear a clunk in the back of the machine when the dev solenoid activates. There's a sticky pad on that solenoid similar to the Adonis exit unit one that sticks, stopping the dev drive kicking in intermittently. Always worth a look.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Is the problem when printing or only when copying? The fading I see in your sample could be a scanning issue. try cleaning the optics.

One other thing, the laser process is write to no charge. Grey scale is achieved by adjusting the laser intensity. If there is a film built up on the laser shield glass, it might cause the grey scale to taper off more than normal. It could also be a bad laser unit.
