    Ricoh 2051 sc345

Had the problem 3 weeks ago and replaced dev unit and power pack as per service manual. Back in today, along with very irate customer, all earths in place, machine spotless-only 455k on meter, all values at default any ideas?????

I know that this is a bit of a reach, but could it be the drum or drum potential sensor? If you have a look at section 6-76 of the manual, it mentions the potential sensor checking the bias when the ID pattern is created and then boosting it, assuming that SP3901-001 (auto process control) is turned on.

What is odd is the time which elapsed between calls - 3 weeks is a long time for the fault to resurface.

I'd check the firmware too, just as a precaution - there's nothing listed for this fault on the 2051 but there was on the 1050.

Sorry if this isn't a whole lot of help!

I am pulling from distant memory here, but I seem to recall that SC 345 could be caused by the drum shaft screw loosening up at the fly wheel.

Also I just had one recently with the drum so badly worn that it was bleeding off the dev bias.

Just a couple of shots in the dark.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

Thank for the replies,I was thinking Drum also but the machine only has 455k on the clock and visual inspection of the pcu was good. All vaues for vsg, vref pro-con etc. were fine. However I dicovered that a loom of 10 or so white wires coming fom the gw controller were being caught by the flywheel, making 2 of them bare. As soon as I insulated these and ran the machine and did forsed process control - hey presto problem solved!!!
