Ricoh MPC2003 - cyan toner issue

    hi guys,

got a 3rd party customer with a Ricoh MPC2003 which says there is no cyan toner in the machine, upon investigation they were using compatible cyan toner and the chips on the end had a hole in it so the pins at the back wont make proper contact,

i have advised on getting a genuine Ricoh toner,

does anyone have any suggestions if its not down to the toner

If it is not the toner, check the toner hopper which also breaks many times.

try this, unmount the pcdu, and check visualy the level of the toner in the rear supply hole, if its very full of toner to the brim, you have the developer unit broken, if its very empty and you can see the internal screw, you have the toner hopper mechanism broken.
in alternative you can follow the disassembly procedure on SM, and can check if the toner hopper its truly broken.

        hi guys,

we replaced the sub hopper as the auger had bent but when we replaced the new hopper the auger was again bent, i have had a look at the drum/developing unit and it seems full the brim in the duct, so possibly believe this is a developing unit issue?

as I told you above, very often the blocked/broken development unit also causes the secondary hopper to break...so yes, try to suck up a little toner from the hole in the development unit, and rotate it with your hands, if it is hard, or you can clearly see that the cloche inside does not turn, it has to be replaced, for me personally in those cases, it was very hard to turn, and I had to replace the development unit and hopper, this (according to a bulletin) should happen with the groups of development of old/previous production
