Ricoh 2035 patchy copies in solids

    Hi Guys,
Most common cause of patchy copies (they say in the solid areas - I havn't had chance to see it yet) I hope this will be drum or charge roller that need replacing what do you think?

    cheers

I'd be lookin at the dev, try a forced toner supply once or twice see if that darkens up your solids, what count is on the current dev? If it's up or nearly up change it, don,t waste your time umming and arring. Also check life of pcu.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

        Mg Sleeve

Over time the mg sleeve coats up w/ toner. This will cause patchy copies and uneven toner distribution plus dusting. If dv needs to be dumped, start fresh. Vacuum mg sleeve and then clean w/ degreaser to completely remove toner buildup. Follow up w/ alcohol. There is a tech bulletin on the mg sleeves and buildup if I recall. Don't bother ordering new mg rollers, they do the same thing over time.

        Hope this helps!!!!

Do what aabarnes1 suggests. This won't take long and will rule out several possibilities.

You could also check for toner on the laser shield glass, not that these machines are dirty runners or anything

                  Many thanks guys

G'Day Guys, I tried changing the dev - fixed the patchy copies but then I ended up with back-ground I cleaned everything still had problems with bg, managed to get a s/h pcu and try it - bg moved to another area, replaced the PCU all is sweet.
                  Thanks again!!
