Re: IM C300 locking up
Did the problem go away as soon as you brought it back to the workshop? I'm wondering if something in residing in memory wasn't clearing out and the loss of power on the way to the shop allowed it to clear.
I've always been a big fan of flushing power out of a device that's acting that flaky: power off, pull the plug from the wall and hold the power button down on the device for thirty seconds. This will flush any remaining power out of memory DIMMs or other low voltage components. In some cases a reboot doesn't allow a change of state long enough to flush out noise or a persistent charge. It's worked with MFPs, computers, and even a few embedded devices.
