[Misc] Suspend or Cancel Print / Copy job when staples run out.

Hey guys, hopefully an easy one.
I've got a ProC5200 that I want any current staple job to either suspend or cancel when the staples run out. I'm sure there will be a setting in SP mode somewhere for this but I'm clearly having a "mans look"
    Cheers

The problem is that by the time the "out of staples" condition is detected, a production printer has already start the next job. That is the purpose for the pre-stack area of the finisher, to hold the first few sheets of the next job while the current job is being stapled and exited off the staple table. That can be anywhere from 1 to 5 sheets of paper. In addition to that depending on how many other peripherals there are between the main frame and the finisher, you can have quite a few sheets of paper that have already been fed. It would require having custom firmware written that some would have to pay for to have those sheets of paper exited without being stapled.

      Thanks for the reply.
Apologizes, but I didn't explain the issue particularly well.
So what is happening the customer sends say a 20 page doc to the machine and wants 100 stapled sets. At set 40 the machine runs out of staples, the job continues so the remaining 60 sets and printed /copied unstapled. I want the job to suspend or cancel at the point the machine runs out of staples.
      Hope this makes more sense
      Cheers

Then there must be something changed on the ProC5200. The older Production models to my knowledge would pause and wait for more staples. With a jobs with 20 pages per set it should be able to merely stack the current job in position to be stapled. Unless by 20 pages you mean 10 sheets duplex. In that case it may have to exit some sheets to the preview tray.

I would suspect a Trained Operator setting from the control panel. Sales Support people should be able to help, especially if you can make it sound to them like you are going to loose a customer to a competitor.

I'm wondering if there are firmware updates to fix this, seems like something they'd fix. Are the machine and finisher up to date with firmware?

Turn Off Auto continue and turn on Auto tray switching in Printer Features. machine now stops to display load staples.
