    Hope this helps

    Hi there.
I had an LD232c which gave me hell last week. The machine was making a growling noise and the colour reg was way out. The more I played, the worse it got. I remembered having this previously. So I took another transfer unit along and slapped it in, this worked beautifully. What we found is that the encoder assy. on the tranfer unit was knackered. This causes the colour reg and timimg to go all over the shop and eventually causes paper jams.
I seem to remember the first time we came acroos this we popped a transfer unit in that we knew worked fine, but it still gave us trouble. So we had to replace with a brand new encoder assy (no. 17 in the parts list), that did the trick that time.

Just a foot note; The transfer HV board on the donor tranfer unit was shot (the reason it was laying around the workshop) , with the result that the colours would come and go. So I had to change that as well with the one from the original unit.
I hope this is of some use to you.....

How is the density of the individual colors. Use an internal test pattern, like checkered, to judge.
There's a colour test page in printer SP which will give a good overall coverage indication of the quality.

What are the PCU's/ Dev units like?
    Is the copy quality ok?
If the density is down on any colour then the Patches may not be able to be read off the belt.

Hey Rick, what's the score with the other problem you had with pcq on black? We like to know if we are helping with our advice.
