    Lately I've had to deal with , I often play this trick never had problems, it usually solves them, however every now and then they break down on their own, and I replace them following the SM procedure, you can also put different ones, for example I put that of 2501 on 4054, and it worked....if you cant do more, i use this...let's call it "the trump card"

    I'm always kept away from NVRAM except to replace them with new ones, I'd risk blowing up the controller board. As well as losing all factory settings/adjustments
