Ricoh c2004ex issues with scan to media

Hi, i am trying to setup a printer that was donated to a wind band.

Previous it was locked to a corporate network down and only used with safeQ
I have disabled all user authentications and uninstalled safeQ, and so far i can print via usb cable and copy freely. But when it comes to scanning i get the message "You do not have the privileges to use this function."

It will not be connected to any network so what i am trying to get working is scanning to usb media. It allows browsing the usb stick to print.

    I have done firmware upgrade.
I have also tried to scan while logged in as admin that gave the same message

I am thinking of trying to set up an account m, like this the next time i am at it.
An access privilege error appears while printing or starting up an application - Ricoh

    Any hints

I would suggest to delete all user settings. To do this, you must first activate the Device Administrator and give him all privileges.
Then go to page 3/5 in the Administrator Tools and execute "Erase all Memory". This will reset all user settings to factory default.
I don't care about who your father is, as long as I'm fishing here, you won't walk on water.

Also in Administrator Tools disable all user authentication.

One other thing, make sure you are NOT logged in as an Admin when you try to use a function. Admins are nor authorized to use functions. Exiting User Tools does not automatically log you off.

Oh thanks that is usefull information, I will have some time to tinker with this next week.
However i am starting to wonder/realise that i had to have "user code" enabled to be able to print...

Why do this printer have to be so advanced, with so many options.

User codes are needed only if you wish to track use by each individual or the machine is located where unauthorized people might have access to it.

Thanks it seem'd so unintuitive that it had to be enabled, so now it is not.

Now i have erased all data. Now everyone can do everything

                Thanks.
