As far as Ricoh's go, this is one of the easier fusers to rebuild. Maybe there's a YouTube video for it.

It is best to just do them by the service manual. They were quite detailed back then. One potential problem is the E-clips holding the gears onto the roller shafts. If they have become weakened by the heat, they can deform and not stay on properly when reinstalled. They can also launch when being removed or installed. Always a good idea to have extra on hand.

Ya'll wouldn't happen to have a digital service manual available for the c40000?

Oh man, sometimes the E clips fly and I don't even hear them land, good by. I always carry extras. I've learned to keep my finger on them when removing them. They do get bent, I form the back into proper E form with pliers.

One thing I've started doing is to take photos once I get the covers off and while doing the job, it helps when it comes to putting it back together.

i take pics too and if rebuilding a unit for the first time i will take a piece of cardboard and draw where each screw goes on a drawing.
i tried to rebuild the fuser sleeves with the felt and lub bars and the inner heat shield on the 03 and 04s..
