MPC4503 paper cassette not closing

Hi,

Normally when closing a cassette it is positioning slowly and become ready when it's in place.
Customer called for cassette nm1, it doesn't close completely and won't come in the right position when closing . .

came with a another cassette but experienced the same problem, there is probably a problem with the closing system.
Did not had much time, customer was closing . . .therefor must return tomorrow.

never had such problem with a cassette other than broken parts.
What drives the cassette in its place? Easy to fix?
Not that much experience on this model

You have one of the machines that has s soft tray closing device. They can be damaged if anyone shoves the tray in too hard. Visually compare the device mounted to the back of the frame between that tray and one that is working. There is a lever that is out of place. I have been able to pop them back into place with out having to remove the device.

it happened to me only once on mpc5503, it stopped staying closed, and I was there for something else, luckily by feeling a little with my hand at the bottom of the machine, it sorted itself out, maybe it was just a little "seized". ..I didn't even have time to see how to tear down

D149-2906. Lever Stretch Paper Tray. Replace it as it is.

Hi there!
Polo-022 is right, you have to change this part. 4 weeks ago i had the same issue - the mechanism inside was broken. When the new part arrived i was surprised that the colour of the gears has changed from black to white plastic !
