    Ricoh FT 3713

Was wondering what the possible causes for an E70 code on a Ricoh FT 3713 would be when having trouble getting the code to reset? Would it be the main circuit board or the power switch? Any help appreciated, thank you.

Used Toner overflow. Clean out the used toner tank and reset the code with SP83.

I should've posted this earlier but forgot. We have tried SP83 to reset the code the problem we are having is the machine accepting the reset code, basically it won't reset the code. That's why I'm wondering if my problem is in the main board, power switch to turn machine on and off, or both are the problems? Any help appreciated, thank you.

So then you know to enter 1 then press AID?
I dont think it would be a board problem, maybe just a stuck NVRAM. Do SP99, clear all memory.

I think that the code also has something to do with the toner light going off 10 times or the waste toner.

Man, these machines go back a bit, and I can't remember if it had something to do with these or another similar model, but there was an overflow flag that would sometimes stick on the waste toner/cleaning blade section--actually I think this is on a similar model.

The reset code should fix the E70.

I am not 100% sure on this, but I think that to reset the E70, you had to perform the SP83 and some other combination to get the code to go away.

"We have tried SP83 to reset the code the problem we are having is the machine accepting the reset code, basically it won't reset the code."

No, the SP83 should take care of the code. Of course it's possible that something else could be bad, but I don't think that's the case here.

Switch off the machine. Remove the rear cover. On the Main Board is a dipswitch (DPS101). Set switch 2 to 'ON' and switch on the machine.
This will force the machine to go into SP-mode.
Choose SP83 and set this value to 1. Confirm with the 'Auto Image Density' button. This should reset the waste toner counter
Don't forget to set switch 2 to 'OFF'.
