MPC 2050 RAM - Where to get it?

    Hello there, guys.

I'm in need of getting a 512Mb upgrade for one of our MPC2050, but the Ricoh part is, well, pricey.

Is there any manufacturer that makes compatible RAM for these machines, or am I stuck with ordering only from Ricoh?

I know some machines use standard off-the-shelf RAM, but this one doesn't seem like one of those (never seen a chip like this one before).

Can anyone give me some insight on this? Thanks!

Can you obtain the speed and the frequency for the original memory?
The memory is DDR1 type....PCBDR1-DIMM-3 so it will be expensive anyway because it's hard to obtain it. Looking closer on the layout of this memory board (in the service manual photo) it looks really unique.

This memory isn't standard DDR1 memory. Although it says PC2100 on a sticker, it doesn't look like a common SODIMM stick. It looks more like a standard SDR stick but shorter (9cm wide).

No...it's not laptop. It has 2 small nips so the connector and the memory looks in a proprietary. Attached is photo with the "classic" computer memories available and it doesn't look like.
Plus you will need the CAS latency to match with the original...and even you will find one could give you problems in time.

            Give these guys a shot

They have always had what we needed at a better price.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.
