I have a Lanier LD235, that throws a sc545 code everyday. I rebuilt the fuser, thermisters, rollers ect, and made 1000 copies. Within 1 hour they called back. I thought I had a aulty thermister, so I changed both again, and reviewed all previous work. Next day, 545. Ordered an I/O board, next day 545. Put a power supply in, 545. Do you think I have a bad interface on the fuser?

I would replace the fuser harness on the unit itself and both thermostats at the same time
Good luck -
Also make sure that you have good airflow around the fuser. Another thing to try is change fuser temp control from phase to on/off. Also check your wall power and make sure your customer doesn't have the machine pugged into a power strip with six other things on the same outlet ...add a surge protector if you don't already have one or change it out if it's an oldie. (I've had surge protectors go toes up and actually cause fusing errors).sigpic
Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.
