    SC990 & SC326 solved!

There are an awful lot of posts on these 2 SC's, including my own, and lots of helpful solutions that often work. I have recently been made aware of a bulletin, that I am awaiting a copy of, but have tried it and had success.
I have acces to TSC Ricoh, but there must be a higher level of support that is available, because there is no bulletin that I've seen that says this. This bulletin is specifically for the 2035/45 series, and directed at the SC990 code; however, it worked for me on a 1035 that I had SC326, and had replaced the LD unit, controller, BICU, Dev, drum, and did the pitch adjustment dozens of times with no luck. The bulletin apparently says there is a problem with the LD "pitch adjustment" and says to manually set the LD power back to defaults with SP 2103-1, 2, 3, and 4.
My machine didn't respond to anything I tried until this and was going into SC-326 every copy until I did this, and has been perfect ever since.
I thought I'd post this and I'll be anxious to hear if it helps anyone else out that has had these relentless codes that nothing seems to cure.
    Good Luck!

Whenever I see the SC990 "Software performance error" code I seem to find the laser power is at or near the maximum setting. I had assumed this was related to the toner spill problem caused by damaged dev / pcu seal etc, causing toner to spill over the LD board. I am aware of a few bulletins relating to this problem but they tend to be a bit hit and miss re fixing the fault.
I have often tried lowering the laser power and unless I replace the LD unit tend to find that the machine will either respond with a service code or increase the laser power back to the maximum which prompts the SC990 agin, I assume becuse the laser power is trying to adjust out of range(?)

I wonder if the one you have seen is different to the Ricoh UK buletins?
