ricoh 2232c leaking toner from rear pcu

toner is leaking from the rear end of the pcu (cyan and yellow only). toner is then mounting up very quickly and eventually scattering all over the paper trays.. but all pcu's have only done 20k each. if it is the pcu then why are they failing so early.

is it something else that it can be.

Waste toner exit pipes clogged? IF I recall this unit has this pipes that run along the back inner wall. That or maybe the foamy stuff it torn or rotted that protects the entrance to them.

Ive seen this when the drum positioning plate gets bent and not holding the pcu/dev units in fully. This causes the shutter where the toner enters not to open fully allowing the toner to build up as you discribe.

neergish good idea. Not seen this so wouldn't have thought of that.
