It s the right developer. For light copies the first thing to do is clean the laser slit glass. Clean the ID sensor, and run the init at SP3001.
Were the copies good right after the dv change or later?

Check SP2201 (Dev bias) someone may have raised the settings for dirty copies. Set to default

Customer could have let the toner run really low, try a forced toner supply once in sp2xxx, see if it makes any difference. if not then clean your mag roller and replace your dev. Also check the drum unit is seated correctly, ie the catch/retainer is engaged

Poor transfer maybe? Check the spring contacts and contacts underneath the transfer unit.
Don't take that toner with me!

Following the thought of "Fearless V K" check to make sure clutch is moving the transfer belt onto the drum, and that the transfer belt is even turning.

              Just something else to check.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

                  Got it fixed?

Could also print out the non-default settings (sp5990-6) to see of anything is out of whack settings-wise. I have to do this as we have a few 'tweekers' in our shop.
