    Ricoh 2232C Duplex Function

    Hi guys,

Recently, I been trying to print using the Duplex Function on the Ricoh 2232C and it seems that it would work only when I print from the firefox browser, But when using adobe pro to print with duplex it wont work.

I've setup the page to duplex and changed the tray to tray 2, tried to set it up on the printer OS and still having an issue wondered if you guys ever ran into a problem like this

    Thanks Guys,

    LTIJJ

I've seen several apps that try to override the print driver. How is the document set up in Adobe? (Word Perfect was notorious for this, and MS Office isn't much better)

Take a look at the output tray. Duplex jobs can only be printed when the output tray is set to the inner tray of the machine.

I changed the tray to tray 2 unless i have to use the manual feed to achieve the duplex?

I mean the output tray, where the paper exits the machine. Some of these machines have the multi-bin tray installed (at the left side of the machine). When you send a duplex job to these output trays it won't duplex.

I don't think it is possible to duplex from the bypass tray

                Output Tray.

You cannot duplex from the bypass or to the upper left exit - you can only duplex from one of the drawers or LCT, and output to the main internal tray or finisher.

Also, are you printing from the same driver? Some techs set machines up with PCL, PS, and RPCS drivers on the workstation, and they don't share settings. Adobe prefers PS drivers, and may list them in a different order when you pick your printer.

Nope, that didn't work I changed the output tray and it still did not create a duplex

yeah, I haven't used the bypass tray because the settings indicate that it does not work with duplex.

So is this a Ricoh issue or is it a software issue ? what do you guys think?

                  Thanks,

I don't remember if these machines support PS out of the box - most machines used to require the customer to purchase a PS option (big $$$) and it was only required for Macs. I always preferred the PCL5c driver - you can download it from the ricoh-usa.com website.

Postscript was an (very expensive) option for this machine. If you install the PS-driver and the machine prints garbage, then you don't have a PS-option on board.

Try uncheck the "choose paper source by PDF page size" on the printer properties.
