    AF2022 Doc Feed

I have a document feeder problem. If you place 2 or 3 sheets in the feeder, no problem. Put a stack in, 1st sheet feeds,2nd sheet, then it feeds many sheets at a time and gets stuck. I have replaced the belt feed roller, reverse roller, pick up roller and the torque limiter. Still same thing happening. Any help is appreciated.

Man this beats me. It's usually the torque limiter at fault in this situation. Unless you got a bad one. Other than that try reloading ADF firmware?

Is it getting stuck as though it's jamming from a bad sensor, or it is getting stuck as though a motor is getting weak or a clutch going bad?

There is the one photoreflector that gets overlooked which needs to be cleaned.....it's under the panels where the paper makes the turn.

There is a separation pad in this DF which also can be the cause. It's a rubber pad located near the reverse roller.

            Part no. : A859 2315 Seaparation Pad.

Replace the feed belt drive roller, it has a one-way clutch inside. A859-2114. If that doesn't do it, replace the shaft that the one-way rides on.

Once I did a mistake during reassembling the feed belt holder assembly - you can install the holder kind of back to front what's causing too much tension.

The hint with the one way pulley is also good but I think that should cause just no-feeds.

Maybe you have a chance to cannibalise a complete assy somewhere in your shop - should be handy for troubleshooting. Many machines have a DF75 installed.

I am going to try the separation pad and the one-way clutch. It isn't a sensor jam, it is a separation problem for sure. Thanks guys very much. I will let you know.

Thanks Jomama46, you were right, I replaced A859-2114 and that fixed it. I didn't even know there was a one-way in that piece. Thanks all

You're welcome and be on the lookout, almost all of the Ricohs have a one-way there. I replace it along with the rubber on all problem dfs. Saves me a call-back.
