    ricoh 2232c sc 471

    machine jammed first thing in the morning on the right hand side of the machine. its also made this grinding noise from the transfer unit like its struggling to turn.

    this is happening first thing in the morning. its happend twice already.

    there is an modification on this sc code about a plastic mylar could this be the problem thts causing this?

    Yep, that little mylar at the entrance of the transfer unit is prob'ly bent and needs replacing. It could be causing the unit so get stuck when it tries to move up or down. Replace it and give the little sensor a clean that is attached to the back wall of the machine while you've got the transfer unit out. That's the one that throws up the SC 471.

    I have had problems in the past with the mylars and the sensors, but replacing the mylar ususally gets you out of trouble.

      spoke to someone at ricoh earlier on. they said to replace the clutch in the transfer unit.
