seems like the fuser is not fusing on to the paper properly. like peeling off.

customer is using 120g in the paper trays. and 220g in the bypass. machine has done nearly 40k.

i then changed the settings to middle thick on the tray. and thick 3 for the bypass. prints are fine.

customer wants to know why they have to do that when they never had to do that before.

could it be coz of the fuser unit?

when they never had to do that before.
Geez, how many times have I heard that one.

Most of the time when I see this it is because the paper is damp. 40K is not much for this 160K fuser. Those paper weights are well within specs so I would have to suspect the condition of the paper.
How does it do on normal 80g?
Have you tried fresh from the pkg, paper?
    Did your adjustments fix it?
If so, then tell them the newness wore off, the bloom is off the rose.
"you asked me to fix it, I fixed it, this is what we do"

I've heard this scenario before. I just tell them the timing of the machine has adjusted for their use. They should have been using my settings all this time. Read the Manual.

OK, I agree, but check the pressure roller bushings.

The operator manual states these settings should have been set from day 1.

I've heard that so manys times also but I usually tell them if you take a sledge hammer and hit yourself in the head 1 time it won't kill you if you keep doing it you will eventually pass out or die. Pretty much the same scenario as the copier. That's why there is an owners manual it comes down to training and a trainer should have been sent to train them or the sales person should have or at least he can be blame for it.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.
