    Aficio MP 161 - SC929

I seem to have a re-occuring fault that I can't seem to pin down.

It's SC929 which the SM says is 'IMAC hardware error' relating to the BICU PCB.
There is a issued RTB that says it's trigged by poor grounding of the paper tray.
But I have checked and cleaned both grounding points on the tray as well as other grounding points around the machine.
As far I can see everything is making a good solid contact.
I have also replaced the BICU and reseated all the connectors through out the machine.

This little machine will not beat me LOL.

Anyone have any further suggestions on this one?

      Think I've sort it.

I had another go at the grounding contacts on the tray.
Polished them up and streched the connectors out abit.
Tested various points around the machine back to earth with a multi-meter. The wire harness on the cross beam that runs under the tray checked out ok.

Done 1000 copies so far and there has been no re-occurance of SC929 (yet).
But it had done 3000+ copies back at the customers before it had re-occured the last time, so dunno as it can be so intermitten or happen fairly quickly.

There is a tsb from ricoh for this problem and it does refer to the tray ground contacts. It seems to occur more with the 2nd tray option.
