    Ricoh Aficio 450 - SC403

SC-403 code: Transfer belt position error or fuse FU5.

Any advice on what solves this problem.
I tried replacing the transfer belt, and this did not solve anything.

When I take th transfer belt out, the machine cycles, and the SC error code goes away. Is there a sensor that may gone bad?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

If you remove the flywheel and hi voltage board, item 9 on page 57 of the parts manual is likely to be the problem either the senosor has failed or dirty. Posssibly the clucth.

Thats whhere i would start and on several versions 350-1045 -2045 the unit has failed first intermitterly then altogether.

I was able to clean and re-grease the clutch. Just to warn you, Ricoh made it difficult to get to the clutch. It's in the first layer on the rear frame. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
