Ricoh MPC4500- Help: Print to Folder

    Hey Folks,

I never imagined a forum like this existed... thank goodness!

Our network administrator went off to Iraq recently and I have been placed in charge. I really don't know all too much about all this. Just the basics. My problem is this:

I am trying to allow a user on our local domain access to scan to a folder on the network. Could anyone attempt to spell out for me, step by step, how to do this? I have access to the Ricoh web page and the "Address Book". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

In the Ricoh Address book you
    1. click add user
    2. Name and Key display same thing. i.e johnny bloggs
    3. Scroll down to Folder Path you can use ipadress or hostname\scans or whatever your path is. You can confirm the path when you press the button to scan later.
4.You can either give just this user a Folder Authentication user name and password. Something that has rights to get to the folder where ever it may be. Just have a look on the page you will see folder authentication. I usually set up an overall username and password which will work with all users that you create. This can be done in device settings smb username and password.

Have a go and ask more questions if you get stuck.
Make sure that the folder is shared with permissions to the user you are using.
