    I have a Crazy AF-2060

    Hi dear,

    I have a Ricoh AF-2060 and I have a problem,

Turn on the machine after machine ready to copy. Its time I click the start button and copy a document. After machines show the Please wait message and start button led is green light I click the start button Machines scan the document and Show this messages copying start will after warm-up but machine not show the Ready messages or copy the document.

Format the HD, unplug the ADF and see if it copies then. Also try the old fwu
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Is the fuser hot? and I mean Hot Hot?

I had one with old firmware and a only 1 of the heat lamps working. The fuser got hot enough that it wouldn't throw a code, but the pressure roller was still cold and able to suck up enough heat to keep it from warming all the way up.

I agree with aabarnes1, the HDD is more likely - just putting this out there.

Let me know if you fix it . I had a 2060 that was doing exactly what you describe. I replaced the HDD, the fusing unit, power supply, the controller box, the BICU, updated the firmware, did a memory clear and nothing fixed it. The machine was at the end of the lease so the customer replaced it with something else.

The fuser harness has also been known to cause odd problems like that in several machines (though not specifically this one) It's usually the machine side of the connector, just to make things interesting - the fuser side connector and harness is easy to replace, you really gotta dig to get the machine side out on some models.

fuser harness makes sense cause its almost like is not warming up. what was weird for me is that I could only make one copy from regular mode after that i would get the please wait message but if I went to service mode an access the copy button through service I was able to make as many copy as i wanted. The only problem with that is that you get the cross pattern on every copy.

A few years back I had a af650 or 700 cant remeber whcih now. where It was working fine but after taking the Drum Unit out to check and placing back in. I could print total counters and SMC, but not make copies (it did not have printer function)

It seems after much scracthing of head that the spring at the rear of the PCU was out of place and not doing what it should do.

Again just another suggestion if the normal fixes dont work

The other one I have seen all though it produces an optics code. Is AF2060 will make a copy and will make as many you ask. But will not scan again.

The problem was the home postion sensor and optics were really dirty once cleaned the scanner unit was able to return to postion after a scan and worked fine.

Remove the finisher and try again. If the machine copies the finisher probably has the "Stop Job" button on the left cover? Is this illuminated?

Had a similar problem on an AF2105, the machine would scan and just idle without copying, pressed the switch and normal function resumed!

Otherwise, sounds like a temperature detection problem, change the thermistors.

I did that to myself one time, but it threw an SC code almost immediately.
