    1st suggestion:

Is it original Toner? I was told that there also may be problems if you try to install another NRG branded toner (like Ricoh) instead of Nashua even if it's basicly the same material - dunno if that hint counts for this machine as well.

    2nd suggestion:

This is a hint from the MPC2500-4500 era, I'm quite shure that this is still valid for the recent MPC generation:

Has anyone tried to install a PCU from the SPC printer? That's basicly no problem IF you keep the original DV sensors from the machine. Keeping the SPC sensors and disabling the "new unit detection" may work for a little while but you'll definetly get trouble like this.

    3rd suggestion:

What happen if you perform an engine reset? - don't forget to backup your NV ram data first via SD card.

Make sure firmware is up to date.

In an extreme case, you may need to perform an engine clear to correct this. As prescribed by the Ricoh Hotline. The NVRAM does not increment a counter on the RFID board or vice versa. Make sure you have all SMC reports printed before you do any memory clear. Lots of settings get blown away. You will also have to probably do a forced line positioning (rough then fine) and a factory ACC setting restore to get your copy quality back afterward.

You can turn off the toner end sensor, however that may cause other complications down the road, and I wouldn't leave that as a permanent fix.
Don't take that toner with me!

Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.
