I'm having a problem troubleshooting a sc:500 error on a savin 4018d? Seems like maybe motor or drive related but was wondering if anybody has any other experience with this error...

Have you tried:
SP mode 5-804. output mode for the motor?
Is the drum unit seized?
is the fuser seized/stuck together?
My guess would be to look for something thats stopping the motor from turning rather than the motor turning under its own power for the moment.
If your not familiar with the ricoh post back - someone on here will help you.

I have a test drum/dv unit I'm going to try tomorrow; the fuser turns but never gets warm. I get the error on power up. I can turn all the units manually. If I power up the machine with the drum out it prompts me to install it, then throws the error. Hopefully thats the problem.Comment

It was not the dv unit, so I ordered a main motor to try that.Comment

I hope you ordered those gears up in there too. They grind down and lock the motor. Be-ach to replace too.sigpic
