    MPC2000 SC551

Has anyone had a Ricoh MPC2000 with a SC551. I checked the thermistor and the thermostats, they are fine. I am not familiar with the thermopile. Is that like a fuse, how do you check that with a meter? I reset the machine and it came back later in the day. Reset without doing anything and it went down again today. Tomorrow I am replacing the thermistor and the thermopile, but I have my doubts. Has anyone run into this problem?

Had one of these last week...cost me 2 recalls but it turned out to be the thermopile. First one of those I've had fail on me. A bit of work to change the sucker to ! Do make sure all firmware is up to date though. Firmware seems to kill lots of odd ducks associated with the MPC series machines.

Thanks for the reply. I am going there first thing this morning; I will let you know how it works out. I will also upgrade the firmware.

Don't the lamps blow on these? I've certainly had an MPc2800 which had blown one element on the twin-element lamp and I'm sure that TonerMunkeh told me that these lamps are iffy too.

Might not be that, but it's probably worth metering them for continuity.

I replaced the thermopile and updated the firmware. It is day 6 and I haven't had another call. Thanks paperclipsandbubblegum
