Ricoh 1045 toner build up on the drum

I have a ricoh 1045 that i have been working on for a while now. among other issues one that i can't seem to resolve is that there is about 3" wide toner build up on the drum. it happens after making at least 10 copies. I tried different drum unit, developer and transfer belt and no improvement.
the Puzzeling thing is, that after you open and close right door it will clean it off and only about a half inch will get transferd on the page. ( the toner built up is towards the front of the machine)

    any suggestions?

Is the transfer clutch camming the unit on and off? Normally this would chuck up an SC40x error like, but it's a possibility.

Are you getting any SC codes at all? Normally you'd get an SC991 or somesuch if the drum wasn't cleaning properly.

Did you clean the development roller? Or change developer?

Try holding up the left front corner of the machine and run some copies. If this resolves it, unscrew the stand on the left rear, pick up the left front and tighten the screws.

Boy, this brings back memories. I used to have a ton of B003's in the field and they all originally suffered from this problem. Somewhere along the line Ricoh changed the doctor blade gap and offered a new development roller assembly to help this problem, and it DID help quite a bit. The part number for the new style dev roller assy is B0043101.

Hello, is very simple, changes the magnetic roller, or try to clean it. With a very fine sandpaper ...

Acutally, Lacquer Thinner works better and leaves no scratches.

You can tell if you need to do it if you push some dev aside from where the problem is occurring. After you move it if you can't see shiny metal then you need to clean the whole mag roll.
