      One other question: what kind of memory expansion does this machine (2045) take? Does it accept standard memory sticks? SDRAM? DDR? DIMMS? SODIMMS?

        it is maxed out with the printer/scanner kit.

        If you have a BAD mem unit, pull it out and it should have info on it. Probably SOdimm PC133 as a guess for that age of mfp.
