There are tons more features on the 2075 compared to the 1075. The biggest one I can think of is the ability to scan to folder instead of just email.

It is ILLEGAL to reset counters, even if it can be done. I can't think of any possible exception to that where it would be legal. Doing so would be no different than resetting the odometer on a car.

What's the difference between a 1075 and 2075? Not much mechanically - same basic layout, some new features, improved op panel (once you update the touch screen), some improved designs, some questionable designs.

Reset counters? Yes there are ways. No - nobody here will tell you. It's illegal and the only possible reasons for wanting to do it are immoral.

The main difference is the fuser.

It is not illegal to reset a counter but it is to pass off a 2nd hand machine as new.

              1060 to 2060

The difference between a 1060 and a 1075 is copy's per minute, thats all. Between a 1060/75 and a 2060/75, the 2060's have some new features such as previously mentioned the ability to scan directly to a folder. As well there are improved parts for consitant quality. If you haven't bought a machine yet go with the 2060/75 series. If you are looking at spending a decent amount of money look at possibly a MP 5500/6500/7500. These machines run like a dream with way less issues. These are comparable to the 1060/2060's. They even use lots of the same parts.

If you are going to get snotty about it, RTFB.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

actually, you can Scan To Folder in 1075 also. I've worked on both of them (on the 1075 not much), but I barely noticed any difference

                    From the Product Support Guide.....
                    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The B140 Series is the next generation of the very successful B064/B065 Series machines.
This new series offers new features such as Embedded Scan to Folder, a brand-new Z-folding unit option, Advanced Security Features such as Windows Authentication and DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS).
Also, an improved warm up time (30seconds), which improves customers’ time and efficiency.
Other features and improvements include the following:

                    • Scan to E-mail
                    • LDAP support
                    • PDF Direct Print
                    • Web Image Monitor

                    Copy Speed:
                    B163 / B228 (SP) – 51ppm
                    B140 / B142 (SP) – 60ppm
                    B141 / B143 (SP) – 75p

                    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Copy/Print resolution is twice as high, 1200dpi vs 600dpi
PM interval is twice, 300K vs 150K

Attached is a complete comparison list

Wrong label on front or wrong network kit?

                      * Wrong label on front or wrong network kit installed?

So if the large unit label/sticker centered on the middle front says: "Ricoh Aficio 2060" and when I access the web interface it says "Ricoh 1075". How should that be interpreted? (Is it a 1075 unit that someone stuck a 2060 label on? ..or is it a 2060 with a 1075 network kit installed?) (I can tell that the "scan to folder" is very much missing on this unit.)

                      Anyone seen this?

Check the serial plate and see what the engine code is stamped on it (B064,B140,...). Someone may have just swapped out the front door to replace a broken one or maybe there is some deliberate attempt at deception. Drop the bypass tray down to see the plate. Print out the config page in User Tools/Printer. A 2060 can't use a 1075 NIC and visa versa.
