    3025 and the smb function

I have several ricoh 3025's some operate the smb function find the workgroup and we move on. Other times the machine cannot connect, i set up work groups and still no connect. Is there a bit switch that turns this function on? Or something in the work group set up? I set this stuff up all the time and run into this occasionally, with no result, i have to resort to scan router in theses
    cases. any ideas?

Within Network settings make sure the SMB workgroup and device name are entered, also if installing into a domain make sure the domain name and DNS settings are all correct. If you have WINS server put that in as well. If you do all this and it still doesn't work, you're not getting NETBIOS names resolved properly, the only sure way around this is to ensure the target server/computer has a static IP and then manually point the 3025 at that, followed by the file path.

SMB is the old peer-to-peer protocol and has for the most part been replaced by DNS. Probably when you encounter not being able to find any workgroups the peer-to-peer is not installed or they havn't enabled NeTBioS(peer-to-peer) over TCP/IP.
