    Ricoh 3245c fuser belt

We have several 3245c models out with the same recurring fault.
After replacing the fuser belt within a couple of weeks the coating on the fuser belt seems to be separating and causing the surface of the belt to wrinkle causing what look like water marks on the copies.
We have tried replacing all of the PM items within the fuser assembly but the problem still returns.
Has anyone else seen this problem and if so have you managed to find a permanent fix????

The only way I have been able to resolve this issue is by replacing the whole fuser ass.. Good thing I only have one left.

Permanent fix? Good question. As you know - nothing last FOREVER so in your case (and based on my personal experience) you better change the whole unit. Do not waste your time and money re-building this fuser. Not worth it beleive me. THese fusers are tricky once so you think it was fixed, everything looking fine... BOOM! the same problem. SOmetimes they last long time but if failed - replacement is the way to go (especially with a problem like yours).

        Hello,

        Just come across this thread.
I have had similar problems, my fault was due to the thermistor for the belt. It looked good, but a close look revealed the thin metal contacts had broken from the solder joint.
New thermistor & my problem was solved.

Agree with Sakura, most of the dealers here will try to rebuilt all parts like fuser unit, PCU unit & etc. but the rebuild if failed will cause more service down time . change the whole unit still a better way. save time & Money. time more expensive than the rebuilt cost.
