    2045e Document Server doubts

    Hello again, people.

I've been wondering: is it normal for an 2045e to hold only about 750 pages on the document server? Because I'm finding it a little on the low capacity.

Of course I'm assuming that it's impossible to increase the storage space on these machines by putting in a bigger HD. But is there any way of lowering the reading quality or increasing the compression (if there is any) in order to squeeze more pages into the HDD?

    Thanks!

    Hi, MrWho,

It may not be the number of pages, but rather the number of jobs that's the issue.

Ricoh machines can hold 100 jobs, Doc Server and printer combined, regardless of how small the jobs may be.

I know that can be changed on some of the newer machines; I don't know about the 2045.

Well, I'm pretty sure the customer has, at most, 3 pages on the LCD worth of jobs, so that will amount, at most, to 30 jobs.

No - you could put in a 1Tb HDD and the capacity would be the same. Ricoh machines only use the amount of disk space they were designed to use.
