    Gestetner DSM627

Device boots up with jam code (j001). It shows the letter "c" which is near the bridge/exit area. What I have done:
-checked paper path for small pieces; none found
-checked all sensors for stuck flags; again none found
-Tried to clear the error by going into SP and powering off; came back

At this point I went one step further and went into SP 5803. Under group 2, bit 7 it shows a 0. To me this indicates that the paper exit sensor shows activated, correct? I believe this sensor is the root of my problem however I am unable to locate the sensor. All the sensors I found I accounted for them working in different groups in sp5803.

I would think that either the flag is stuck, paper is in the sensor and I missed it b/c not sure where the sensor is, or the sensor is bad. What do you all think?

Any help is much apprecated, in pointing me to where this sensor is located and if you think this is indeed my problem.

If your machine has an interchange unit, remove it and check the exit sensor in this unit.

The interchange unit cover switch is always good for getting smashed on this model. It's on the front side of the unit. You may find that's been stoved in and that's why the jam condition won't clear.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.
