Finisher problem in aficio 1060

My 1060 finisher problem is when I select sort

There is a diverter gate that directs the paper to either the the proof or shift trays. The linkage is probably broken at the rear of the gate and when the solenoid actuates to send the paper to the shift tray, it doesn't move (there is a spring that keeps it normally outputting to the proof tray). Take off the rear cover and check the rear pivot point of the gate.
The jam code is thrown because the paper is not exiting at the expected exit sensor of the shift tray.
