    Noisey MPC2000

    Hi Guys

A tech brought in a machine today that made a hell of a noise. I heard over the phone when i spoke to the customer earlier. He thought it was the drive gears. Plugged the machine in at the workshop and now it is silent. Can not see anything wrong with it. I am just afraid we take it back and it starts doing it again.

    Any ideas

          Technical Bulletin PAGE: 1/4
          Model: AT-C1 Date: 5-Mar-07 No.: RB230021
          Subject: Groaning/Moaning noise

          SYMPTOM
          1. A grinding/moaning sound is emitted from the drum unit.
Note: This happens more often with the black drum unit than with the CYM drum units.
          2. A medium to high-pitched moaning sound (450Hz) is emitted from the ITB cleaning unit.
Note: In some cases, this can be resolved if the ITB cleaning unit is removed and
          then reattached
          CAUSE
          1. The temperature inside the drum unit rises, causing the lubrication blade to vibrate.
Note: The temperature inside the drum unit rises when the machine is used frequently.
          2. The exit seal was made too thick, which increases the contact pressure on the ITB. As
a result, the exit seal, ITB and cleaning blade to vibrate.
          SOLUTION
          Production line
          1. Vibration insulation was added between the lubricant blade and drum unit frame.
Applied from: June 2006 production (RAI).
          2. The thickness of the seal was decreased from 0.2mm to 0.1mm.
          Applied from: December 2006 production

I've had noises from the fuser cleaning roller too. Sometimes they're hard to hear over the din of my farts though.

            Output mode...
