The reason for scanning to the document server is that this function uses the hard drive and, if it was a problem with this, I'd expect to get the SC992s. Personally I don't think that it is the hard drive though!

Off the top of my head, try doing the LD pitch adjustments in SP mode. I take it that you don't get any quality issues when you're printing out SMC data and suchlike? Although the customer doesn't use it to print, this will rule out the ADF, mirrors, lens block assy etc if you're also getting the problem when printing from memory.

Just a thought, but you could try scanning a biggish job into the document server and then printing it back out from there. That would kill two birds with one stone!

On your original issue, zebra copies. The machine I had never had the issue when I was on site. I updated firmware. Did the LD pitch adjustment. Formatted HDD's. Etc. The issue always returned. I tried the laser synch detector and Polygon motor but the issue wasn't resolved until I replaced the laser diode.

it appears that the machine could be working fine an entire day without trouble and the next day not be able to read 3 sheets of paper without throwing the 992 code.

Maybe I should check the laser as you say - is my only option to replace it or is there any test I can conduct?
                Hi!

Iit might seams crazy but in MARTINI i solved several sc99x by changing the corona unit.

Thank you all for your feedback. I didn't report yet since I didn't return to the customer since my last reply. Whether it was because the problem went away or because they're closed during this season, I still cannot tell.

I'll report back as soon as I get more info.

                  Cheers!
