    Ricoh IS760 Scanner

I've got one that is jamming after 2 years of flawless use. It is connected to a Network Scanner Type A with the scanner DIP switches set to SCSI synchronous transfer disabled (USB/IEEE 1394 transfer enabled) and the rotary switch is set on 4. Then from the Network Scanner Type A (control panel) its connected to a LD175 by a crossover cable.
It is set up to scan mixed size checks 5.5inch as the leading edge (short edge), and it's output is a 8.5 x 5.5 sheet of paper. The size of the checks are varied from personal sized checks to corporate sized checks. This is all they use it for. Non duplexed, all scans are single sided.

It will complete a scan with a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper sent thru ADF short edge as leading edge, it will scan anything this is at least 11 inches long.

The programming has been verified and correct, nothing there changed.

Apparently this started after a drive roller gear was stripped and replaced, afterwards, they've had this problem.
Tests include DIP SWITCH tests: Demo mode, basically used all the different tests available and all tested positive except for one.
During testing of sensors, like input tests, put a piece of paper to change the states of the sensors. The Home Position scanner. There are 2 width sensors at located on the ADF, these 2 scanners use the data to size the scanned documents, mixed size checks.

All sensors and photoconductor in the ADF paper path has been changed, except for possibly the HP sensor, this will be re-verified tomorrow when I take another look at it.
The EEPROM was also cleared. Have not re-flashed the ROM yet, this may still be a hardware problem.

Spoke with many people and a few people have also worked on this with me, what a puzzle!

    Any ideas?
