The filter on the dev unit is probably not sitting in properly, it sprays toner on to the laser slit glass.

Blockages on the doc blade, worn developer, worn seals, plugged filters, and dirty coronas can also cause toner to dust the laser glass. Point being that if cleaning the glass fixed it you've got more work to do finding what scattered toner to the laser or you'll be back to this machine in real short order.

What about damp paper? I know it's a long shot for paper to be damp on one side only, but sometimes people store paper in weird ways. Try turning the paper around 180 degrees and see if the light area follows.

He stated he fixed it. Looks like it was the laser glass slit, now he needs to fix the cause. But I have seen damp paper do totally blank or very weak copies.

I have 4 1060 machines in the same site using the same paper type and I have the problem in one machine only.

Probably the development roller is dirty.

Remove de developer from the unit and from the magnetic roller. See if in the edges is darker
