    SR861 Booklet Finisher

    SR861 Booklet Finisher
We have a customer that has one of these and when it does staple jobs on the side. AKA The booklet process. There are two stapler units. When a booklet job is sent. Say its 20 pages, Letter.

On page 19 one of the side booklet staplers fires and staples prematurely. Then when page 20 is stacked the other side booklet stapler fires.

So we have one stapler unit firing EARLY..

Got Any Ideas Guys. This Finisher has been nothing but a nightmare for us with it occasionally folding at the wrong time too.

Have you got the firmware up-to-date? That'd be where I'd start.

I will verify this. IT SHOULD BE as I did it for the whole machine... last year.. But.. I wonder if I did it with their old finisher or the Booklet Finisher.

Note, updating firmware and replacing main board on Finisher. After that it is the Harness we will replace.

I'd do the harness at the same time, otherwise you might run the risk of the harness possibly shorting and blowing the new board.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

          Hit it.

Was a thought, and I mentioned it to Service manager, But when we got there the customer had bent the rails so the paper stack thing was hitting a paper gate and the rear motor was tapping the back cover.
